Mr. Matthew Maxwell Ohiare, who is Living With Disability, has called for financial aid from well meaning Nigerians to enable him offset the medical bills of his wife who gave birth to triplet.

Mr. Ohiare who won the award of the Best Service Corps Member  in Edo State for the Year 2023, said the blessing of the triplet has come with huge responsibilities for him.

He said the triplet, two boys and a girl were born on Easter day.

Ohiare who hails from Agenebode, Etsako East Local Government of Edo State and his wife from Oyede, Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, said that he is a photographer while his wife assists him at the shop.

He said before the arrival of the triplet, they were already blessed with a son.

He appealed to well meaning Nigerians, government at all levels, corporate entities to come to their help as the family navigates this new chapter of their lives considering the economic hardship in the country.

Also speaking, the mother of the triplet, Mrs Joy Ohiare, said the discovery came as a shock to her at the early stage of her pregnancy, hence taking care of the accruing medical bills and catering for the babies at the face of the economic hardship in the country is taking a toll on her and her husband who is physically challenged and just rounded off the compulsory National Youth Service (NYSC), scheme.

She appealed to the Edo State Government, cooperate organizations, institutions and kind hearted Nigerians to support them financially to enable them settle their medical bills and, for the upkeep of their babies.

The father of the triplet used the opportunity to ask for a good Job or financial support to invest in their photography business adding that if he could get a good artificial limb to ease his movement, it will be well appreciated.

The Chief Medical Director of Osayawe Peace Medical Center Benin City, Dr. Rex Omogbai who corroborated the story, harped on the need for well meaning Nigerians to render assistance to Mr and Mrs Ohiare.

“The mother and the babies have been in the hospital since two weeks and, they are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

They are currently on oxygen and we are monitoring the oxygen saturation closely.
