The Edo State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has appointed the former Oredo Local Government Council chairmanship candidate, Mr. Onaghise Osaretin Daniel-Ero as the new youth leader of the party, with the sole mandate to galvanize the party to victory.
The appointment which was done at the state’s party secretariat in Benin, saw the presence of the governorship candidate of the party, Olumide Akpata and the state chairman of the party, Kelly Ogbaloi in attendance.
Recall that the youth leader of the party, Ken Omusi was suspended for his alleged involvement in anti-party activities.
Speaking during the swearing in ceremony of the youth leader, the state chairman of the party, Kelly Ogbaloi said that there is no need for a vacuum in the party now that they are preparing for the governorship election in the state but that the party must move forward.
He said that with the person of Onaghise, the party will be able to galvanize its youths for victory knowing very well that majority of the electorate are youths and that the party cannot allow the suspension of the former youth leader to hamper the progress and preparation for the election ahead.
Ogbaloi said that the party executives took the decision of suspending the former youth leader following series of allegations leveled against him.
Ogbaloi further said that the appointment of Mr. Onaghise as the state youth leader takes immediate effect.
Responding to his appointment as the youth leader of the party, Onaghise said he has seen it as a clarion call to serve and not to be served.
He said he is going to plough his wealth of experiences to drive the youths and the party to victory.
Mr. Onaghise called for a collaboration from the youths of the party in order to achieve his aim, which is victory for the party.
