The member representing Orhionmwon South Constituency at the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Bright Iyamu and other stakeholders in the local government have stepped up their campaign for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates, Dr Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Osarodion Ogie jointly known as AiO², ahead of the Gubernatorial election schedule for September 21st, 2024.
The campaign was held on Monday 29th July and Wednesday 31 July 2024 at Orhionmwon Local Government Area.
On Monday, Ugboko Ward 5, Urohonigbe Ward 7 and Ward 8, Urhehue Community, Ugu Ward 09 and Evboesi Ward 10, Ugbeka Ward 3 and Iyoba Ward 4 campaign was held at Evbuokabua Community, Iyoba Ward 4.
On Wednesday, Igbanke East, Ward 11 and Igbanke West, Ward 12 held their rally at Igbanke Primary School, Igbanke and Aibiokunla Ward 1 and Ward 2, held their rally at Oza Primary School.
The PDP’s Campaign team led by Matthew Iduoriyekemwen, the Director Campaign of Asue Ighodalo and Barr. Osarodion Ogie, AiO², who was elated at the mammoth crowd who turned out at the event, welcomed everyone on board.
The party’s state chairman, Dr Tony Aziegbemi while receiving the decampees in their hundreds, encouraged the good people of Orhionmwon to vote for competency and capability, reassuring them that a vote for PDP, is a vote for development.
PDP branded umbrella was presented to the decampees.
The PDP Governorship candidate and his deputy who were delighted by the massive turn out of their supporters, presented their manifesto “Pathway to Prosperity for all” with excitement.
Ighodalo stated that if he emerges governor, he will attract development to Orhionmwon local government area, manufacturing companies to the community, equip the schools, improve on the health sector and ensure electricity gets to every nook and cranny and the roads will completed for easy mobility.
Hon Newman Ugiagbe, Orhionmwon Council Chairman assured the people that their votes will count and they should vote for AiO².
Earlier, while receiving the PDP Campaign Team at his Ward, Ugboko Ward 5, Hon Bright Iyamu expressed satisfaction with the level of support and commitment for Ighodalo and Ogie’s candidacies by the party’s faithful.
Iyamu reaffirmed his conviction on the PDP candidates, while noting that the party fielded the best candidates for the 2024 Edo gubernatorial race.
He encouraged the members of his Ward, Ugboko Ward 5 and other wards to come out en-masse and vote for AiO², PDP, highlighting the importance of collective effort in achieving a better future for Orhionmwon and Edo state at large.
The lawmaker told them they should thumb print on the umbrella symbol that represents PDP and that names will not appear on the ballot paper, “only the symbol of PDP, an umbrella. Orhionmwon is PDP and PDP is Orhionmwon ” He added.
The leaders and other stakeholders of PDP Orhionmwon LGA were all present at the rally to welcome the Campaign Team.
