A female governorship candidate on the platform of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) in the forthcoming September 21 Edo governorship election, Mrs. Patience Ndidi Key, has said she would capitalize on the liberalization of the power sector to improve the state’s power infrastructure, and prioritize human capital development to foster a welfarist state.
She also said that she would leverage on the abundant natural resources of the state to build an enviable Edo State.
In a discussion with newsmen in Benin City, she expressed her confidence in her potential to add value to the state.
The only female governorship candidate for the Edo State governorship election also conveyed her disappointment over the state’s regression under past administrations, which she believes has compromised the welfare of the people.
“There is hunger in the land and this hunger leads to anger; anger leads to agitation and other things. It takes a visionary leader to address this,” she stated.
She remained optimistic that her gender would not impede her ability to deliver quality governance for Edo State.
