The assistant pastor of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin Pastor Osazee Aibangbee, has called on christian faithful to always treat issues of delay seriously, saying that not all delays are not denial.

He made the call while speaking on the topic “Breaking the power of delay” during the church service in Benin.

Reading from the book of Exodus 32:1-9, Pastor Aibangbee said because Moses tarried a little while, the children of Israelites despite seeing the signs and wonders that were performed in Egypt and at the Red Sea, they lost their cools.

“When the people saw that Moses was so long in coming down from the mountain, they gathered around Aaron and said, “Come, make us gods[a] who will go before us. As for this fellow Moses who brought us up out of Egypt, we don’t know what has happened to him.”

“Aaron answered them, “Take off the gold earrings that your wives, your sons and your daughters are wearing, and bring them to me.”

“So, all the people took off their earrings and brought them to Aaron. He took what they handed him and made it into an idol cast in the shape of a calf, fashioning it with a tool. Then they said, “These are your gods,[b] Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.”

“When Aaron saw this, he built an altar in front of the calf and announced, “Tomorrow there will be a festival to the Lord.”

“So, the next day the people rose early and sacrificed burnt offerings and presented fellowship offerings. Afterward they sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in revelry.

“Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt.

“They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt”, Exodus 32:1-9.

Aibangbee said this scenario is still playing out today and some believers are losing their faith because they could not wait for the promises of God and which is not the best.

Speaking further, Aibangbee also referenced Sarah who out of impatient seconded her maid to Abraham her husband because she felt that she couldn’t bear him a child and without recourse to the promises of God in her life.

“So Sarai said to Abram, “The LORD has prevented me from having children. Go and sleep with my servant. Perhaps I can have children through her.” And Abram agreed with Sarai’s proposal”, Genesis 16:2.

He said a lot of christians have become very frustrated and dejected in life because of this delay.

He said to make matter worse, it has also made them to alter their original plans in life.

He added that some of these are caused by evil forces, therefore, the children of God have to wake up and address them with prayers.

“For we wanted to come to you—indeed I, Paul, tried again and again—but Satan obstructed us” 1 Thessalonian 2:18.

The clergyman maintained that the importance of early satisfaction cannot be overemphasized noting that, David acknowledged it and he asked God to make haste to hear his plea.

While reassuring christian faithful that there is powers in prayers, he said that they should keep praying and believing because God Almighty has broken every yoke of delay and setback from their lives.
