The MTN Champs Season 3 competition has galloped into its second day in the ancient city of Benin.

The breath taking athletics competition is taking place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin and it has athletes who are participating in High Jump, Long Jump, 100 metre and 400 metres races and other field and track events respectively, winning medals.

Miracle Sunny who took part in the 400 metres female, came out first, getting to her finished line at 55:08 seconds while others who came out first in the various categories of the field and track events, were being awarded with medals too.

Speaking, the founder and Chief Executive Officer, Making of Champions (MOC), Mr. Bambo Akani, said that over 300 medals would be won in the competitions.

“So there will be a lot of medals to be awarded both in this location (Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium) and in the University of Benin Sports Complex.

“We’re talking about 100 and 400 metres across all the four age groups.

“So, I can’t put a number on today’s medals, but for this whole three days championship, we’re talking about 90 track and field events across the four age groups.

“So, we’re talking about more than 300 medals that are going to be awarded in this championship including the relays”, Akani said.

On the part of Mr. Osaze Ebueku, Sponsorship for Marketing for MTN Nigeria, he described the event as being interesting, saying its purpose is to discover new and raw talents across the country.

“It has been good and the whole idea is to identify talents and then begin to expose them because we have a lot of champions.

“These are our future world champions and so we are creating a platform for them to perform well. So, this is basically what the whole idea is all about”, Ebueku said.
