Edo NYCN Expresses Readiness To Collaborate Govt. On Reduction Of Crimes  ….Honours Oshioma, Charles

The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Edo State, has expressed its readiness to partner the state government in tackling the menace of crime and criminality in the state.

Comrade Moses Aguinede Joseph, the Chairman, NYCN, Edo State, made the vow at an award gathering ceremony in Benin City recently, to celebrate the commitment of some impactful youths and address the root causes of the surge in crime in the state.

He pledged the youths resolve to continue to make a difference.

Comrade Aguinede disclosed that, since he assumed the mantle of leadership in the State’s Youths Council, he has launched several campaigns in support of the eradication of crimes in the state.

He maintained that, the decision was as a result of the growing urgency to address the root causes of the surge in crime and implement effective strategies to restore security and confidence across the state.

While highlighting some of the reasons for rewarding the deserving awardees, Aguinede emphasized their immense contributions to their immediate community and the society.

He added, “looking at the last two years, we have led several campaigns and advocacies as youth ambassadors against social vices.

“On the issue of the award to the deserving youths, we have carried out our background checks on these individuals and discovered that the awardees have a lot of followers through their onerous commitment to the grassroots.

“Recognizing this impact to their immediate community, we decide to encourage them by making them our youth ambassadors”

The recipients of the Ambassadorial awards, Ambassadors Dopkesi Oshioma and Awanigagana Charles commended the organizers for nominating them.

The duo vowed to do more to rewrite the history that will encourage the youths to embrace tolerance.

Other Participants at the events, including Kokoriko Raphael,

Chairman National Youth Council of Bayelsa State and Tony Kabaka Adun, Youth Leader, All Progressives Congress (APC).

They however believed that with more empowerment initiatives, there would be crime reduction in the state

They urged the state government to continue to empower the youths for a better and prosperous society.
