The Secretary of the Benin Traditional Council (BTC), Frank Irabor, has refuted the allegation that he and one Evans Obasuyi Osazee collected N60 million from the deposed Ohen of Okhoromi community to suppress a press statement from appearing in public space.

Irabor, who denied the allegations, in a statement issued and made available to newsmen, described them as baseless, aiming to malign his personality.

He demanded that the accusers with a proxy name Sungley Xaint Dazi and others making similar claims to provide concrete evidence to substantiate their claims within 7 days or face legal consequences

He noted that “I am aware of the allegations made against myself, Frank Irabor and Evans Obasuyi Osazee regarding the collection of N60 million from the deposed Ohen Okhoromi by a certain man using a proxy name, Sungley Xaint Dazi and others making similar claims.

“I categorically deny these allegations and assert that they are baseless and without merit.

“Failure to provide evidence within the stipulated time frame will attract severe legal consequences” he warned.

Irabor said the allegations have the potential to damage his reputation and integrity, including his official position.

Frank Irabor reaffirmed his commitment to upholding his integrity and dignity, calling on the relevant authorities to investigate and take necessary actions against individuals using proxy names on social media platforms to deface him.
