The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, has been inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Benin (UNIBEN).
Dr Alenkhe was also presented with an Award of Merit in recognition of his distinguished exceptional impact and contribution to chosen career, humanity and society in general.
Dr Festus Alenkhe, an alumnus of the University of Benin was among those inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Faculty of Management Sciences of the University of Benin during an International Conference, Award of Merit, and Induction Ceremony organized by the faculty.
In his acceptance speech, Dr Alenkhe expressed his gratitude to the faculty for the honour and pledged to continue being a proud ambassador of UNIBEN.
Dr Alenkhe described education as the greatest foundation in the human race. He stated that as an alumnus of the University of Benin, he will continue to promote the tenets of the University.
He said the award will continue to spur him to greater height while discharging his work for humanity.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Lilian Salami, represented by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. Tonwe lauded the initiative of the faculty for all its achievements so far.
Prof Lilian assured that the University of Benin will continue to discharge its social and academic responsibility to the populace.
The Guest Speaker, Professor Godwin Oyadokun in his presentation, said that growth is a precursor to development.
Such growth, he said must be sustained for development to be enhanced.
The Secretary to Delta state government, Dr Kingsley Eze Emu was also inducted into the faculty hall of Fame.
Array of Journalists drawn from the various media houses in Edo state attended the Dr Festus Alenkhe’ s prestigious induction into the Hall of Fame of the Faculty of Management Sciences, University of Benin which also has an Award of Recognition by the UNIBEN faculty.
