The Honourable member representing Oredo West Constituency at the Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA), Hon. Dr. Richard Edosa has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), leaving his former party, the Labour Party (LP).
He was officially presented the paraphernalia of the APC, which is the broom by the state Secretary of the party, Lawrence Okah at the Oredo Ward 7, in Benin City.
Addressing the mammoth crowd of Hon. Dr. Edosa’s supporters at ward 7, Okah said Dr. Edosa has earlier being received into the APC by the leadership of the party, but they also thought it wise to finalize it officially in his ward hence politics is said to be local.
He commended Dr. Edosa for not only coming alone but with his 124 members of the Labour Party including his other teeming supporters into the party.
The APC State Secretary lauded members of the ward for always supporting the APC noting that, the party won the ward in its last election and that with the presence of Dr. Edosa in the party, things are going to work out seamlessly for the party in the subsequent elections in the state.
Speaking on the essence of joining the APC, Dr. Edosa said he was moved by what the state governor, Monday Okpebholo is doing in the state and that he has chosen to come and join forces with him so that, he (Okpebholo ) can do more for the people of the state.
He said he wants to join hands with the state governor so that the 2.5 million votes he (Okpebholo ) has promised president Bola Tinubu in 2027 election will be possible adding that, such can only be done through unity.
Dr. Edosa said he has fulfilled 80 percent of his campaign promises to his people, stressing that, he is willing to do more so that life can be meaningful for the people of the state.
He admonished his teeming supporters that it is not all about speaking of Queens English but it should be about who can deliver on the job, pointing out that, the state governor is delivering on his campaign promises, therefore, everyone must support him.
He said he will continue to do his best for his constituency as he has always done.
He referenced the irreconcilable crises within the party both at the state and at the national levels as the reasons for pitching tent with the APC.
Speaking also at the event, former member representing the constituency at the state house of assembly, Hon. Chris Okaeben, commended Hon. Dr. Edosa for his numerous achievements within the space of time, adding that, his achievements have surpassed what he has done in the constituency.
He said Hon. Dr. Edosa that he knows cannot be moved or bought over with money, stressing that, he was only moved by the good works of the state governor and consequently upon that, they should all rally round him so that he can join hands with the governor to succeed.
The former house of assembly member also advised Hon. Edosa not to listen to side talks but should remain focus and determinant to succeed in his endeavour.
