Comrade Friday Aiguokhian, has been re-elected president of the Sawmillers Association, Edo State.
His re-election as the president of the association has broken the jinx as no other person has been elected twice to serve as president since the annal of the group.
The union unanimously voted to re-elect the current executive team for another two-year tenure.
It was said that the election which was held at the D.O.D Event Center, Upper Siluko Road, Egor Community, saw a large turnout of members.
It was said that, following the completion of the first tenure on October 6, the association’s constitution permitted a second term and during the meeting, the proposal to retain the current executives was put to a vote, with the majority of members, voting in their favour.
Dr. Abusomwan Nosa, the BOT Chairman and former secretary of the association for eight years, announced the results and encouraged any aggrieved members to direct their grievances to the executive team for resolution.
In a swift transition, the swearing-in ceremony for the re-elected executives was conducted immediately after the announcement, allowing the team to begin their second tenure.
On his part, Comrade Friday Aiguokhian, the re-elected president, expressed his gratitude to the members. “I thank Almighty God for His grace and protection. I appreciate the trust and confidence members have shown by supporting my leadership. Let us continue to work together in peace and unity to achieve greater progress.”
Vice President, Mr. Paul Obhiebo also shared his appreciation, saying, “I am very happy and grateful to God and our members for this opportunity. I promise to work even harder and collaborate with everyone to elevate the association to new heights.”
Mrs. Roseline Ogbemudia, popularly known as Madam Police, was equally excited about her re-election as treasurer. “I am so happy to continue serving this great union. I truly appreciate the members for their trust and support,”
The election ended on a positive note, with the re-elected executives led by Comrade Friday Aiguokhian, calling for unity and cooperation to ensure the association’s continued growth and success under his renewed leadership.
