Alleged Certificate Forgery: Minister Nnaji Bows To Pressure, Resigns Appointment

By Ighomuaye Lucky. O

After much criticisms from Nigerians, calling on the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Uche Nnaji to do the needful and resign his position as a minister following his alleged certificate forgery scandal, the minister has finally tendered his resignation to President Bola Tinubu.

‎The announcement of his resignation was made in a statement by Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Bayo Onanuga, on Tuesday in Abuja.

‎In his resignation letter on Tuesday, Nnaji thanked the President for allowing him to serve the country.

‎The Minister claimed that he has been a target of blackmail by political opponents.

‎Tinubu, however, commended him for his service and wished him well in future endeavours.

An online report alleged that Nnaji forged the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificates he presented to secure his ministerial appointment in 2023.

‎Recall that President Tinubu appointed Nnaji in August 2023.
