The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State chapter governorship candidate for September 21 governorship election in the state, Dr. Asue Ighodalo has said that with the youths and the women working together with him, the state can be made the envious of all in the comity of nations.
He said this when he held his first stakeholder consultation after he was officially given his Certificate of Return as the Candidate of the Party.
Ighodalo, in his address to the youths, said, “To the youths, it’s our time. By the grace of God and the will of the people of Edo State, we will run a government upheld by youths and with youths.
“Together, we will turn Edo into a state that everyone will be proud of. I will show leadership and direction.
“Our youths have promised that they won’t fail. We will show the rest of the world what we can achieve together as a people.
“We can become a first-world sovereign in Africa. I have seen the path and together, with your support and collaboration, we will achieve this.”
Furthermore, Ighodalo stressed the importance of women in his government, pointing out that, they too will be a focal point of his administration.
He acknowledged the significant role women play in society and expressed his commitment to ensuring their active participation and representation.
The stakeholder consultation with the young people of the PDP, marks a significant step in Ighodalo’s campaign, showcasing his dedication to inclusive governance and youth empowerment in Edo State.
The meeting, co-chaired with the Party’s National Youth leader, Mr. Muhammed Kadede, and his deputy, Timothy Osadolor who is from Edo State, emphasized the pivotal role of youth in Ighodalo’s government and highlighted his commitment to their empowerment.
Kadede assured Ighodalo of maximum mobilization of Edo youths to ensure his emergence as the next governor.
He lauded Ighodalo’s dedication to working with youths, describing him as someone who is genuinely committed to the welfare of the people and youths of Edo State.
Just before the event, Party National Chairman, Amb. Umar Damagum, who presented Ighodalo with the Certificate of Return, expressed confidence in Dr. Ighodalo’s ability, character, and charisma to win Edo for PDP.
According to Damagum, the PDP is one and we organized and recognized only one primary in Edo State which produced Dr. Asue Ighodalo.
