Bandits have dared the inhabitants of Tashar Kadanya community in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, asking them to pay the sum of N60 million or be prepared for their onslaught.
Newstracktoday reports that the information was disclosed by security analyst, @DanKatsina50, on his X handle on Monday.
He said that the bandits gave the community a deadline to pay the money, prompting residents to begin fleeing for their lives.
Security authorities are yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
However, the development has reignited concerns over the persistent attacks by bandits in parts of Katsina State, despite efforts by the government to curb the violence.
The local government has long suffered from bandit attacks, including kidnappings for ransom.
This latest demand by the bandits may further worsen the security and humanitarian situation in the area.
