The assistant pastor of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin Pastor Duke Iyamu has told Christian faithful to be prepared to dance and leap for joy for what God is about to do in their lives.
He gave the assurance while speaking on the theme: “A new song” during the Sunday church service in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Taking his bible reading from the book of Psalms 40: 2-3, he said to some, the previous year was bad and that whenever they take a retrospective view of it, it ushers in tales of sorrows, pains and anguish to them.
Pastor Iyamu said that this year that they have just begun, the difference will be crystal clear and that the goodness of God will be visible in their lives so much so that they will forget in a jiffy all their pains and all that the locusts have eaten.
Iyamu said the portion being read in the book Psalms depicted the life of King David and how God stepped into his life and turned things around for his favour.
“He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand.
“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord, and put their trust in him”, Psalms 40:2-3.
The clergyman also gave the instance of the children of Israelites in the land of Egypt.
He said the Israelites suffered a lot of inhuman treatments in Egypt but when the set time of the Lord to deliver them came, nothing else could hold them bound.
“And it came to pass in process of time, that the king of Egypt died: and the children of Israel sighed by reason of the bondage, and they cried, and their cry came up unto God by reason of the bondage.
“And God heard their groaning, and God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac, and with Jacob”, Exodus 2:23-25.
He said what the believers need is to open their mouths and pour their hearts to God because He is capable of doing exceedingly and abundantly of what they can ever imagine.
While also bringing to their consciousness of the woman who was down with the issues of blood for 12 years, he said when her problem was solved, she leaped and sang for joy.
He assured the members of the congregation that they should forget about their past misfortunes and brace up for a new dawn and for a new lease of life.
