The BEDC Electricity Plc has walked the talk by collaborating Mojec International ltd with the programme, “Get metered in 24 hours initiative” to quicken the installations of meters in 10,000 households in Edo State within the period of 10 days.

Addressing journalists during the collaboration in Benin, the Head, Branding and Corporate Communications of BEDC, Mrs. Evelyn Gbiwen said the initiative represents a significant step towards closing metering gap and improving customer satisfaction in ensuring transparency in the metering process.

According to Gbiwen, this proactive step to metering will help address the long outstanding issues of delayed meter installation and provide customers with a quick and efficient solution.

She further stated that the initiative will not only benefit customers by providing them with speedy meter installation but also to enhance the overall experience with BEDC.

She added that BEDC is committed to working with partners like Mojec company to ensure that their customers receive quality services in a timely manner, stressing that an initiative such as this will help to improve customer satisfaction, reduce operational challenges and ultimately contribute to a more efficient, measurable and reliable electricity supply in BEDC franchise states, Edo, Ondo, Delta and Ekiti.

Speaking also, Mobile Meter Asset Provider (MAP) Team Lead of Mojec international ltd, Titilope Oyelade, said the metering process is a win-win-thing for the electricity company and for the customers.

“It will help the BEDC to recover their losses and their revenue from their customers. Customers will be able to enjoy what they paid for and not just getting what they did not actually consume.

“It will satisfy both ends, the BEDC and the customers”, Oyelade said.

While urging electricity consumers to leverage on the ongoing exercise to get their houses metered, she said prices of the prepared meters will be reviewed monthly as stipulated by the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC).
