The Ambrose Alli University Alumni Association (AAUAA), Home Branch, has planned to convened an emergency meeting of Concerned Financial Members and Stakeholders as moves to resolve the controversy surrounding the branch’s inconclusive election gathers momentum.
The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 4:30 p.m. at the Senior Staff Club, Ambrose Alli Hall, opposite Esan West Local Government Council, Ekpoma.
The emergency meeting comes against the backdrop of the commencement of activities by the Election Appeal Committee, which was constituted to consider petitions arising from the aborted election.
In a notice signed on behalf of the Steering Group of Concerned Financial Members and Stakeholders by Comr. Dr. Obasanmi Jude, Mr. Austin Onobhayedo, Mr. Jerry Ugbogbo, Mrs. Ashaka Gladys, Dr. Mamudu Udoh, Zebede Okechukwu James and Mr. Aidenojie Monday, members were informed that the Appeal Committee had commenced its assignment.
According to the notice, the committee has invited aggrieved members to submit petitions on issues arising from the inconclusive election.
The petition process reportedly commenced on September 3, 2026, with affected members given one week to submit their grievances to the committee.
The Stakeholders said the emergency meeting would enable members to deliberate on the issues arising from the election, coordinate their petitions and determine the next steps towards securing what they described as a credible and acceptable resolution to the crisis.
They disclosed that they had earlier engaged prominent officials of the alumni association, including the Worldwide President, Dr. Clifford Imade Omozeghian, Esq., over concerns regarding the conduct of the election and the composition of the Election Appeal Committee.
However, the group said some of the concerns raised in previous correspondence to the Worldwide President had yet to receive satisfactory attention, despite the Appeal Committee having commenced its assignment.
According to the organisers, Tuesday’s deliberations will focus largely on the issues raised in their petition to the Worldwide President, while the detailed agenda for the meeting will be presented to participants at the venue.
The group urged all Concerned Financial Members and Stakeholders to attend the meeting, stressing that their participation would be crucial to efforts aimed at restoring stability, transparency and credibility to the Home Branch.
They also appealed to members to be punctual, citing the limited timeframe available for the submission of petitions to the Election Appeal Committee.
