Utah State Governor Spencer Cox has made public the identity of the suspect arrested for the killing of US right-wing activist, Charlie Kirk.

The development comes after President Donald Trump announced that the fleeing suspect had been taken into custody.

On Friday, Governor Cox disclosed the name of the suspect as Tyler Robinson following a massive manhunt amid reactions to what many have described as a national tragedy.

Recall that the 31-year-old Charlie Kirk died after being hit in the neck by a bullet while addressing a large crowd at Utah Valley University in the town of Orem.

Speaking in a press conference, Cox said, “We got him,” adding that the arrest was made after one of Robinson’s relatives contacted a friend, who then contacted the police.

Trump, who was a friend of Kirk’s, is seeking the death penalty for the apprehended gunman.
