The general overseer and founder of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin Rev. Sunny Akenbor has challenged christian faithful to seek an alternative means of generating income if they want to surmount the present day economic challenges rather than depending on one source.
He made the call while speaking on the topic “Financial Freedom”, in Benin City.
Reading from the book of Genesis 13: 2, he said that the bible indicated that Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver, and in gold, meaning that he did not just depend on one source of income rather he traded in the aforementioned items and that the present day christians must learn from that if they actually want to be financially liberated.
Rev. Akenbor said that the way the country is today, depending on one source of income is suicidal, therefore, christians have to think out of the box and put their God given knowledge into action.
Akenbor added that christians must also learn how to work with their hands and must not leave what they can possibly do with their hands and bank on prayers noting that, that can only lead to extreme poverty as God has already assured them that He will bless the work of their hands.
“And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, why stand ye here all the day idle?
“They say unto him, because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive”, (Matthew 20:6-7).
He said that the above bible portion kicked against indolence and believers must take heed of that.
He further urged Christians to always learn to strike a balance between their prayer life and their work life in order to justify what is written in the bible that says, the righteous shall flourish like the palm tree maintaining that, the palm tree has a lot of usefulness to mankind.
