The assistant pastor of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin, Pastor Osazee Aibangbee has urged christians to seek for God’s favour in order to achieving early satisfactions in life.
He said this while speaking on the topic “Out of labour into favour” during the church service in Benin.
Taking his bible reading from the book of Luke 5:1-7, Pastor Aibangbee said the life of Simon Peter at the fishing expedition demonstrated that of labour ab initio until he received an instruction from Jesus to launch his net into the depth of the water one more time, which he did.
“Jesus teaches the people from Simon Peter’s boat at the Lake of Galilee.
“Jesus tells Simon, “Put out into the deep, and let down your nets for a catch”. Simon replies, “Master, we have toiled all the night and took nothing!”.
“Simon says, “But at Your word I will lower the nets again”.
The fishermen catch so many fish that their nets begin to break.
“They call their partners in the other boat to help them.
“The boats are filled with fish and are almost sinking”, Luke 5:17.
Aibangbee said this year, believers should learn to obey God’s instructions and make Him their focal point adding that successes in life can’t be acquired through one’s sole efforts and dint of hard work and that if it should be, truck pusher who exerts more energy in his day-to-day’s job should have been the richest in the world.
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all”, Ecclesiastes 9:11
He said the importance of early satisfaction in life cannot be trivialized pointing out that, that was why David in his days, craved for it.
“O satisfy us early with thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days”, Psalm 90:14.
He further called on christian faithful to seek after God’s favour through making Him their Alpha and Omega adding that, Joseph, Mary, Noah, Moses and notable others too numerous to mention in the bible found grace and obtained favour from God through their commitments and obedience to His words.
