The assistant pastor of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated Benin, Sapele road branch, Pastor Ken Ehigiator, has called on christian faithful to always engage in meaningful ventures and shun idleness, because God can only bless the works of our hands.
He made the call while speaking at an event organized by the Intercessory Unit of the church in Benin with the theme”Divine Speed” which was modified to be “The mighty hands of God”.
Pastor Ehigiator said when the children of Israelites were chased by the Pharaoh’s army to the Red Sea, there was no other route and they were overwhelmed with fears but when Moses cried out to God, He only asked him (Moses) what is that, that is in your hands? And he replied, saying, a rod.
Ehigiator added that it was that rod He asked him to stretch that parted the Red Sea, meaning that God has endowed us with a lot of potentials and talents that we must all harness to His glory and for our own benefits, stressing that God Himself frowns at indolence.
While expatiating on the theme of the day, the clergyman maintained that it is the divine mighty hand of God that brings about transformation and that when His hand is not in ones race, man’s race becomes a rat-race and no result to show for all his efforts.
Taking his bible reading from the book of 1 Kings 41:1, Gen. 39:20-21 and Daniel 6:28, respectively, he said the persons involved in those episodes, all had the mighty hands of God upon their lives and there were testimonies to that effect.
He said Joseph found favour while in prison because the might hand of God was upon him.
“And Joseph’s master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king’s prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.
“But the Lord was with Joseph, and shewed him mercy, and gave him favour in the sight of the keeper of the prison”, Genesis 39:20-21.
He reiterated that Daniel was 10 times better than his equals because of the hand of God upon his life.
While thanking the Intercessory Unit for coming up with such theme at this critical point in time, he urged believers to expect the mighty hand of God upon their lives henceforth because God Himself has come down to settle their problems once and for all.
