The general overseer of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin, Rev Sunny Akenbor, has called on believers to capitalize on the death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ which the Easter represents, to rededicate themselves to God.

He gave the task while speaking on the theme “The Purpose Of Easter”, taken from the book of Isaiah 53:7 and other relevant sections of the bible to mark the Easter Day celebration.

Rev. Akenbor said that Jesus was crucified not because of His sins but of that of humanity.

Akenbor said that His death reconciled us back to God adding that a life without Christ, is characterized with crises.

He maintained further that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ has renewed our hope in God, pointing out that if only our hope is centred around the materials things we see and have here on earth, we are more miserable.”If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable”, this he said, quoting from the book of 1 Corinthians 15:19.

He urged believers to tow the path of apostle Paul who asked some vital questions about what could separate him from the love of God stressing that neither tribulations nor perils could do that.

The clergyman admonished believers to see the Easter celebration as a wake up call to rededicate themselves to their maker and not to be submerged in various kinds of sins, because the consequence (wages) of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life.
