Former state vice chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Edo State, Chief Francis Inegbeniki, has said that the rumour making the rounds that he has gone back to the APC, is false.

He said this while speaking with Journalists in Benin City.

Chief Inegbeniki who did not state which political party he is now pitching tent with, said that he has decided to take a break from partisan politics.

Inegbeniki said his decision to quit the APC was not because he was not given a significant and prominent role in the just released list of the campaign council as being peddled in some quarters adding that for the avoidance of doubt, notable members in the party were all enlisted into the advisory council of the forthcoming governorship election and which himself, was part of.

He said though the decision to quit the party is quite a tough one but he has no choice but to leave.

“There have been a lot of issues in this state and in my party. Some of those issues, I must say is against my principle. Having thought over it, I made up my mind to resign from the All Progressives Congress.

“As you may be aware, until when I tendered my resignation letter, I was the state vice chairman of that party, APC.

“So, I am just back from my village where I tendered letter of resignation to my ward chairman”, Inegbeniki said.

He said that there is no doubt that his leaving the party is going to create a huge vacuum but added that what is going to happen in the nearest future in the party, is a political tsunami.

He admitted that the video making the rounds where the APC governorship candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo was seen visiting was true as it is customary for such a thing to happen.

He said he has also received numerous calls from friends and associates asking him to rescind on his decision of leaving the party but he has since maintained his stance of not going back to the APC.
