A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State chapter, Hon. Shedrach Udugbai has said that the people of the state can’t afford to go back to the dark era rather, they are prepared to embrace change and development that the governorship candidate of the party, Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie will bring to the state after emerging victoriously at the poll come September 21.

He also revealed why he has to mobilize his followers to join in the solidarity rally for the governorship candidate of the party, Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie, saying that the state needs continuous development.

He disclosed this while fielding questions from Journalists in Benin City.

Hon. Udugbai said the state has witnessed monumental progress in the last seven and half years under the leadership of governor Godwin Obaseki, namely in infrastructural development, Information Communication Technology, workers welfare and education.

Udugbai said with the position the state has attained, it doesn’t need someone who will learn on the job but someone who has been in the system and understands the workings of government.

He said Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie have been in the job and have understood the workings of government.

The PDP stalwart added that it will be very easy for the duo of Asue and Ogie to pick it up from there.

He maintained that the state can never go back to the old stone age where things are done in a crude way, stressing that the state has technologically advanced beyond that.

Udugbai who was conspicuously seen holding up the umbrella for the governorship candidate of the party at the rally, said forward ever and backward never for the state.

He further called on the people of the state to come out and join the moving train of progress and development by voting Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie in the forthcoming governorship election in the state.
