A stalwart of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the Edo North Senatorial District, Hon. Shedrach Udugbai has vowed to galvanize the youths across the three senatorial districts of the state to vote in their large numbers for the governorship candidate of the party, Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie in the forthcoming September 21 governorship election in the state.
He said this while fielding questions from Journalists in Benin City.
Hon. Udugbai said he is going to leverage on the numerical strength of the youths to ensure Asue Ighodalo’s victory because they stand to be the major beneficiaries of the entire process.
Udugbai said Asue has promised to borrow a leaf from his predecessor, Godwin Obaseki whose cabinet was predominantly dominated by young persons, giving them the ample opportunity to build capacity/experience while making meaningful and productive contributions to governance, stressing that, that is the major reason he is going to convince the youths to see this election and its governorship candidate as their major project.
He went further to say that the youths must get it right this time around and that they will not sell their conscience for peanuts because the future of Edo State lies in their own hands and it is theirs to redeem it.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Youths, said he has x-rayed the governorship candidate of the party, Asue Ighodalo and he has seen him as a man with laudable track records and is best suited to manage both human and material resources for the progress and development of the state.
The PDP stalwart also pointed at the rich and all encompassing manifesto of Asue Ighodalo, stating clearly that, he is the only candidate that has documented his plans and vision for the Edo people.
He said his five points agenda stand tall as a panacea to all challenges confronting the Edo People.
He said as a youth, his duty is also to educate other youths on the issues at hand, who the PDP candidate is and mobilize them to work for the actualization of this noble project, which is the Asue Ighodalo and Osarodion Ogie project because he believes that, the duo, “Dem go do am”. They will make the state greater than the way it is now, having learnt from a great technocrat, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the governor of the state whose tenure will soon ends.
He admonished the youths of the state to be focused and ensure that this project succeeds.
