The coordinator, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp in Ohogua, Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State, Pastor Solomon Folorunsho, said 180 persons have graduated and over 400 others are currently in various institutions of learning across the country since the inception of the camp.

He revealed this while chatting with journalists at the camp.

Pastor Folorunsho said despite the 400 currently in the various higher institutions of learning, more students have been inspired to take up their studies seriously.

“From inception, we have over 180. And now we have currently over 400 in different higher institutions.

“And this very year, we’re going to have over 40 coming out at once. So, it’s just going to be harvest and bigger ones because you see everyone is inspired by the progress that is coming.

“Like the one we just had now, you see everybody reading, no one wants to be left behind. And I discovered nobody has dull brain. At all, nobody has dull brain. Everyone that we have come across”, Folorunsho said.

He said the number of graduates churned out from the camp and the numbers of those recently called to the bar have silenced the wrong impression held about the camp over the years.

“You need to see me that day, I was just everywhere walking up and down, running, you know, when you said I’m a cheat, you said I am a fraud, you said all manner of things, I said, Okay.

“I may not have the capacity to sue you to court to come and prove your lies, but the only way I can reply you, is by the work I’m doing. The result that comes out. And now the results are coming out. So, the results are speaking. Even the children are saying, “Daddy, anybody that do this or that again, we’re going to sue the person. We are your witness. We are your evidence. We are the result of who you are.” So, I mean, I’m just the happiest person”, Folorunsho added.

He further called on well meaning Nigerians to contribute to the progress of the children in the camp so that, the ongoing achievements can be sustained.

According to him “The children need food. They need sporting items. They need relief materials. They need soap to bathe. They need toothbrush. They need toothpaste. Just these essential things. These are the only things they’re asking for. They’re promising you, give us these things and we will come back to be a blessing to you. For example, those who are doctors now, a lot of them are doing their housemanship now. They are treating people in the hospital. They would have been on the street begging.

“Some of them would have taken to arms or crime which will make you not to be able to drive your luxurious cars. But if you are sick now, I assure you the ones coming out from here, they are brilliant. They will pick out that sickness from wherever is hiding in your body. Now look at the lawyers. They are going to be judges. We even have a magistrate already. And we have a state counsel already. Now, they are going to give you justice. They are going to make sure they fight for your right. So, what do you want? Engineers, yes. So, I’m appealing to you, come and invest here.

“Invest into their lives. Trust us. If you trust us, then you will see this kind of result. Invest into their life. Bring food for them to eat. Bring paste for them to brush their teeth. Give them good clothes. Give them writing material, books. Pay their school fees. These are just the things that they need, and God will bless you”, Folorusho added.
