Edo PDP Felicitates Muslim Ummah On Ramadan, Sues For Prayers, Peace For Nigeria

The Edo State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Tony Aziegbemi has urged the Muslim faithful in the state to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for the peace, unity and progress of the country.

This was contained in his goodwill messages personally signed and made available to newsmen in Benin City.

Dr. Aziegbemi urged the Muslim Ummah and the entire people of the state to capitalize on the sacred month to pray fervently for the country and seek relief amid present economic reality.

He called for collective effort at finding new solutions to the security and socio-economic challenges facing the nation.

He described the month as special and very significant among the Muslim communities hence, the need to appreciate God and identify with each other for witnessing the holy month.

He further expressed deep concern over the alarming increase in abductions of vulnerable Nigerians in some parts of the country, particularly the recent incidents involving students in Kaduna, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Borno, and Almajiri pupils in Zamfara states.

He also called on individuals in the society to use the period of Ramadan to support the less privileged among them to enable them observe the fasting with ease and promote a sense of belonging.

He however congratulated the Muslim communities in the state and beyond for adhering to the virtues of Islam just as he wishes them a successful 2024 Ramadan fast with abundant blessings.
