The Secretary of Concerned Youth For Development and Equity Initiative, Edo State, Comrade Raymond Omokaro has called on the Nigerian youths to shun violence as they embark on their protest of #EndBadGovernance in the country.
He also called on the nation’s senior citizens and the labour unions to join the youths in their quest of ending bad governance in the country.
He made the call in a press statement personally signed and made available to journalists in Benin.
According to him “I join in the struggles for the liberation of our dear great nation, Nigeria. A country suffering from her faulty foundation at which it was established, in 1999 Constitution.
“I call on our senior citizens, veterans, pensioners, labour unions to please join the on going demands from these patriots (The Nigerian Youths) for a better tomorrow for our great Nation”
Omokaro who expressed his strong solidarity with the youths across the country over their agitation for good and quality governance to put an end to the perpetual corruption being carried out by those in power, appealed to the Nigeria police and its sister agencies to be civil in the discharge of their duties, stressing that peaceful assembly is a fundamental rights of citizens all over the world.
He explained that it’s time to consolidate, heal and build a nation where there will be justice, peace, equity and fairness.
He further urged the federal government to immediately ensure the implementation of Oronsaye Report, Constitutional review to be set up, drastic reduction of crude refined product and local refineries should be encouraged at all cost.
Other issues raised by him includes: Clearing cost of imported goods and services should be looked into, local manufacturers should be encouraged by provision of power supply to ensure cost of production is reduced, cost of governance should be reduced, welfare of Nigeria workers should be reviewed.
