A former deputy governor of Delta State, Professor Amos Otuama, has passed on.
He died at the age of 77.
He died in the early hours of Saturday in Lagos.
Born June 5, 1947, Utuama was deputy to former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, and both served for eight years on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
He was, however, the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General of Delta State under the administration of former Governor James Onanefe Ibori.
Before his foray into politics, Prof. Utuama was a well-respected lecturer at the Faculty of Law, University of Lagos.
He was a native of Otughievwen (Otu-Jeremi) town in Ughievwen Kingdom of Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
It was gathered that the former deputy governor has lost much interest in life and has been in and out of hospital after the death of his wife, Dr Nelly Utuama.
However, the family of the deceased has not officially announced his passing neither has the cause of his death been stated.
