Ex-Edo Rep Member, Agbonayinma Resigns

Former House of Representatives member for Egor/Ikpoba Okha federal constituency, Hon. Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma has tendered his resignation letter to the Edo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Newstracktoday reports that early this year, Agbonyinma had embarked on a consultative move to return to the national assembly.

Agbonyinma who was also a member of the board of Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), expressed gratitude to the APC for giving him the opportunity to have served in the party.

Agbonayinma, who previously represented Egor/Ikpoba Okha, conveyed his decision in a letter addressed to the APC Chairman of Ward 6 in Ikpoba Okha Local Government.

Addressing Journalists in Benin, Agbonayinma expressed that his conscience and commitment to his constituents led him to this decision.

He decried the current state of the party in his constituency, alleging undue interference by a select few individuals in the political affairs of the Ikpoba-Okha Local Government.

Recall that Agbonyinma was a foundation member of the party since its inception as AC, ACD, and ACN before it became the APC.

“I regret to inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with immediate effect.

“At this critical point in my political journey, and in alignment with my personal convictions, principles, and evolving vision for purposeful service, I have come to the solemn conclusion that it is necessary to take this difficult but inevitable step.

“While I may be stepping away from the party, my respect for the institution and for the many sincere and hardworking individuals within it remains unwavering.

“I remain committed, as always, to the service of the people, the strengthening of democracy, and the pursuit of a better future for Edo State and Nigeria.”he said.

His resignation letter was forwarded to the APC Chairman of Ward 6 in Ikpoba Okha Local Government.
