The immediate past national president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Rev. Dr. Felix Omobude, has revealed the bitter truth asking the people of Edo State especially the Christians to make good use of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state by voting for the right person as governor of the state, saying that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) does not count prayer points but votes.
In a short live broadcasting to the people of the state, Rev. Omobude who is the General Superintendent of New Covenant Gospel Church with headquarter in Benin City, noted that democracy offers people the opportunity to participate in the process of choosing who governs them, saying that such opportunity is right now on the doorsteps of the people of the state.
Addressing the entire Edolites, with particular reference to the Faith (Christian) community, the revered Man of God, reminded the people that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), does not count prayer points but votes.
He then appealed to the people to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC’s) to actively participate in the opportunity democracy offers them to elect the leader of their choice, urging them to use the period to show to the entire world that Edolites are knowledgeable and politically enlightened and never give room for political intimidation that will come from the godfathers.
“Vote your values, vote your conscience”, said Rev. Felix Omobude.
He also advise the the people to vet the track records of the contestants and vote based on their profiles and credibility; and vote for the person of their choice.
The clergy man prayed for peace and tranquility before, during and after the governorship election in the state.
Omobude during the broadcast said, “My dear good people of Edo state, I greet you all wherever you are.
Democracy offers us opportunity to participate in a process of choosing who governs us.
“Such opportunity is right in our doorstep and I know especially our faith community are praying for good governance; we have being praying for progress, and we have being praying for peace.
“And this is applauded but unfortunately INEC does not count prayers.
“This time around, we must show the world that Edo people are knowledgeable and politically enlightened.
“No intimidation; don’t give yourself to any intimidation. Vote your values, vote your conscience.
“Look at the profile of those seeking your votes, what have they done before, do they have the capacity and credibility? The day is 21st September 2024, come out en mass and cast your vote.
“I pray for peace, I pray for safety, I pray for progress in Edo state. May God bless you.”
