In order to make visa application seamless for intending applicants into Germany, the country finally launched a new online visa (e-Visa) application portal.
This process allow students, workers, and researchers to begin and manage their visa processes digitally with any hiccup.
Newstracktoday while referencing Daily Sun Newspapers, said the new platform, introduced through Germany’s Consular Services Portal, enables applicants to submit visa applications, upload required documents, and track their application progress online.
According to information from the German Embassy in Nigeria, the system is designed to make the visa process more efficient, accessible, and secure, reducing the need for multiple physical visits to embassies or visa centres.
After online submission, applications are pre-checked for completeness before applicants are invited for in-person appointments at designated centres such as the Consulate in Lagos or VFS centres, depending on the visa category.
“The Consular Service Portal is an online application system for selected visas where you upload your documents on the portal.
“We pre-check to ensure it is complete, then invite you for an in-person appointment either at the Consulate in Lagos or at VFS for student visas. So you can use the online portal for student visas, researcher visas, work-related visas, or language courses.”
Officials say the initiative is part of Germany’s broader effort to digitise consular services and improve the overall experience for applicants worldwide, including those in Nigeria.
With this, it is believed that those interested in traveling will now have a hitch-free exercise.
