The general overseer and founder of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly, Intl Incorporated, Benin, Rev Sunny Akenbor, has once again reminded believers in Christ that quitting and surrendering to the issues of life should not be contemplated because Christ in them, is the hope of glory.
He disclosed this while speaking on the topic: “Dry bones shall rise again” during the Sunday church service in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
Rev. Akenbor said the spirit of God took prophet Ezekiel to the valley of dry bones and asked him a million dollar questions and while navigating through those puzzles, he responded that the solutions only reside in His hands.
Akenbor said the dry bones depict hopelessness and other issues that have made life a living hell to believers in Christ.
He noted that by God’s command on the dry bones, there was rejuvenation as flesh and breath came upon them all.
“The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
“And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
“And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
“Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
“Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
“And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.

“So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
“And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them”, Ezekiel 37:1-8.
The clergyman reiterated that whatever they mighty be going through in life, it is not a death sentence rather, it is a school and a refining process to make them stronger and better.
“But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold”, Job 23:10.
He added that whatever hiccups and setback they mighty be having at the moment, they should not allow it to define them and that as believers, they must keep their fighting spirit on because there is always hope to those who are attached to Christ.
“For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its tender shoots will not cease”, Job 14:7
He however said that, though they might have been despised in the past like Jephthah because of their inability to measure up, but for the single reason that they are present in the church, the stone which the builder has rejected, will stand up to be the chief cornerstone.
“Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah.
“And Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father’s house; for thou art the son of a strange woman.
“Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him.

“And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel.
“And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob:
“And they said unto Jephthah, come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon.
“And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father’s house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress?
“And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, therefore, we turn again to thee now, that thou mayest go with us, and fight against the children of Ammon, and be our head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.
“And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the Lord deliver them before me, shall I be your head?
“And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The Lord be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words.

“Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the Lord in Mizpeh”, Judges 11:1-11
