The assistant pastor of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly (GGGGA) Intl Incorporated, Benin City, Pastor Osaze Aibangbee has reminded christian faithful that God Himself is not pleased with their redundancy but in their accelerated progress.

He said this while speaking on the topic: “Divine Speed” during the Sunday church service in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

Pastor Aibangbee said divine speed which also means “Supernatural Speed” is the one granted by God to His children and it breaks and supercedes human speed limitations.

Aibangbee said it was the same speed that God granted Elijah that made him to get to Jezree before Ahab that rode on horse.

“And Elijah said unto Ahab, get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain. So Ahab went up to eat and to drink.

“And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees, And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea.

“And he went up, and looked, and said, there is nothing. And he said, go again seven times. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand.

“And he said, go up, say unto Ahab, prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain.

“And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel. And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezree”, 1 King 18:41-46.

He said as parents are not pleased when their child who ought to have been walking but is still crawling so is God not happy when christians are stagnated in businesses and other spheres of life adding that God’s wishes for His children is to prosper and be in good health even as their souls prosper.

The assistant pastor of the church went on to say that believers can do well by turning the tides by going extra miles and not just doing what everyone is doing because doing what everyone is doing can’t make one outstanding, therefore they must up their games, move with the trends, learn new skills and remain relevant in the scheme of things or the will be outdated.

“For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love”, 2 Peter 1:5-7.

He said the bible verse shows progression and not stagnation, so, that should serve as a guide to them.

The clergyman maintained further that believers must obey God’s instructions to avoid destructions, and in addition, christians should seek for God’s help, stressing that no man can succeed alone just as he said that David did and he was able to recover all that were taken during the invasion of his kingdom, Ziklag.

“And David enquired at the Lord, saying, shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

“So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.

“But David pursued, he and four hundred men: for two hundred abode behind, which were so faint that they could not go over the brook Besor.

“And they found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he did eat; and they made him drink water;

“And they gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins: and when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him: for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.

“And David said unto him, to whom belongest thou? and whence art thou? And he said, I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days agone I fell sick.

“We made an invasion upon the south of the Cherethites, and upon the coast which belongeth to Judah, and upon the south of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.

“And David said to him, Canst thou bring me down to this company? And he said, swear unto me by God, that thou wilt neither kill me, nor deliver me into the hands of my master, and I will bring thee down to this company.

“And when he had brought him down, behold, they were spread abroad upon all the earth, eating and drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.

And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.

“And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.

“And there was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor any thing that they had taken to them: David recovered all.

And David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drave before those other cattle, and said, This is David’s spoil”, I Samuel 30:8-20

He however prayed for God’s restorations upon members of the church and unto those who have suffered one misfortune or the other.
