God’s Blessings Always Begin Small, Maximize “Them”, Akenbor Admonishes Believers

The general overseer and founder of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly (GGGGA) Int’l Incorporated, Benin, Rev Sunny Akenbor has reminded believers in Christ that God’s blessings always begin small but blossoms when activated and maximized.

He disclosed this while speaking on the topic: Hindrances to divine fulfilment (pt2) during the Sunday church service in Benin City, the Edo State capital.

Rev. Akenbor who continued from where he stopped the previous Sunday on those God gifted with talents based on their various capacities where some traded with theirs and made profits and the other buried his, said God wanted the person who failed to utilize his own to make profits but he did the unthinkable by burying his, a portion which he took from the book of Matthew 25:23-24.

Akenbor said God is always interested in how one makes use of his little in order for Him to multiply it adding that, God can only give you seed but planting it, is your responsibility.

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

“Then the man who had received one bag of gold came. ‘Master,’ he said, ‘I knew that you are a hard man, harvesting where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed”, Matthew 25:23-24.

The clergyman said Joseph was gifted with the ability to dream and that earned him the name Joseph the Dreamer, stressing that because he was able to place value on his talent by putting into use, the ability to interpret dreams was added to him.

He said Joseph’s ability to interpret dreams made him a Prime Minister in Egypt.

The fire brand cleric maintained further that one of the problems fighting against some christians is fear of the unknown.

He said instead of venturing and taking bold step to break new grounds in their various endeavours with their talents, they have chosen to remain in their shells because of fear.

He also blamed the not utilization of ones full potential by christians on laziness.

He warns that laziness, procrastination, and excessive rest (“a little sleep, a little slumber”) lead to sudden, inevitable poverty and scarcity, which will overtake a person unexpectedly like a bandit.

“A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest—and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man”, Proverbs 6:10-11.

He further advised christian faithful not to walk in the shadows of others like Jonah did but to look inward to discover their purpose and callings in life, saying that, that is the only sure way to get fulfilment and true satisfaction in life.

“The word of the Lord came to Jonah son of Amittai: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and preach against it, because its wickedness has come up before me.”

“But Jonah ran away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish. He went down to Joppa, where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.

“Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.

“But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep. The captain went to him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

“Then the sailors said to each other, “Come, let us cast lots to find out who is responsible for this calamity.” They cast lots and the lot fell on Jonah.

“So they asked him, “Tell us, who is responsible for making all this trouble for us? What kind of work do you do? Where do you come from? What is your country? From what people are you?”, Jonah 1:1-8.

The man of God however prayed that God should take away all the adversaries that hinder prayers and fulfilment of dreams and destinies from all the members of the church just as he also prayed for peace and progress for the country, Nigeria.
