The children wing of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin, have celebrated their day with a lot of activities that would create a lasting impression in their minds as they grow older.
The children were made to feature in newscasting, quiz competition, break dance, choir ministration, debate and lots more activities that electrified the church auditorium.
The minister of the day, Kelly Igbeare, speaking on the theme: “Raising Godly Children”, said parenting goes beyond paying their wards/children school fees as it includes looking after their spiritual wellbeing too.
He said raising godly children involves nurturing their spiritual and character development by modeling faith, teaching biblical principles, fostering a Christ-centered home, and equipping them to navigate modern day challenges.
Master Igbeare added that It’s about fostering a deep relationship with God and helping them develop a strong moral compass as they navigate their formative years to adulthood.
Taking his bible reading from the book of Proverbs 22:6, he said if such portion of the scripture is strictly adhered to, the society would become a better place to live in, noting that, the home is the first point of call where the children are taught morals and values
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”, Proverbs 22:6.
The young minister further warned parents against domestic violence, urging them to let love lead the home because the absence of peace in the home, affects the psychological wellbeing of the child.
While reminding parents that the children are their God’s given responsibility, he appealed to them to help the children develop and maximize their God’s given potentials through adequate spiritual guidance and avoidance of abusive words.
