The President, Youth Partnership for Africa’s Development (YOUPAD), Henry Nwankwo, has commended the Acting Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dawood Egbefo, for his academic contributions to youth and national development.
The YOUPAD president made this assertion when he presented the Thomas Sankara Award to the Acting Vice Chancellor, saying that Youth Partnership for Africa’s Development has being following up with his academic contributions for some time and now and see the need to present him the award.
He said the honour is in recognition and appreciation of his hard work and dedication to national service through educational sector.
Mr Henry Nwankwo went further to expressed the believe that the Acting Vice Chancellor’s contributions to youth and national development through the academia will impact on his transformative performance at Edo State University Uzairue.
The President who also disclosed that the organization is a Pan African youth league and umbrella body for all students and organization across Africa whose mission is to building the youths in leadership and entrepreneurship skills with the purpose of providing Africa with intellectually equipped youths to take the mantle of leadership.
On his part, The Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Dawood Egbefo who expressed his gratitude for the award and acknowledged the challenges faced by African youths as regards to drug abuse, praised the effort of the YOUPAD towards ameliorating this menace in the continent.
Meanwhile the head of Media and Communication of the group, Comrade James Uneze, who stated that they were here to campaign against drug and substance abuse amongst students and youths, proliferation of arms across borders, acknowledged the award as Prof. Dawood’s steadfastness and dedication to the service of the people.
Awards presented to the Vice chancellor include The Thomas Sankara Pan African Leadership Prize for Excellence, Confederacy Commendation Certificate for Corporate Contributions and Membership Certificate.
