Wife of the general overseer of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin, Pastor Mrs. Amen Akenbor has assured believers in Christ that their safety is guaranteed despite the present economic downturn of the nation.

She gave the assurance while fielding questions from Journalists during the church Women’s Convention in Benin City.

Pastor Akenbor said christians need not to be worried about what is happening in the country and globally because Christ still remain the captain of their boat both in good and in bad times and He is capable of sailing them to safety.

“My general message to the women on how to cope with the present economic situation is to hold onto Christ, is to keep trusting in the Lord, build up their confidence, knowing that this situation will come and go.

“And in the midst of these situations, we shall triumph because it is what God has promised us.

“He said 10,000 will fall on our left side and 10,000 on our right side and we shall by no means be harmed. Let’s be rest assured that Christ is in our boat and we are all safe”, Akenbor said.

While saying that the theme of the Women’s Convention is apt, Akenbor said looking at the situation of the country at this point in time, the children of God need to look onto God who is the author and finisher of their faith.

“This message is coming at the right time. Looking at the economic situation of the country, the issues in the country, the tension, the crises here and there, the people need to hear from God and He is telling us in God’s Greater Grace General Assembly to arise and shine even in the midst of these issues, challenges here and there, we are going to arise and shine in Jesus name. It is a command from God”, Akenbor added.

Earlier, the guest speaker, Pastor Mrs. Joy Igbinosa who spoke on the topic: “Financial Empowerment”, said God has deposited in everyone the potentiality of greatness and that believers must look inwards to discover and harness that seed of greatness that has been deposited in them to the glory of God and for their own benefits.

The guest speaker who is a pastor from the Freedom Assembly, while quoting from the book of Deuteronomy 8:18, urged the christian faithful not to forget God who has given them the ability to make wealth when they have started reaping the benefits of their investments/labour.

“And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day”, Deut. 8:18

She further advised the women to cultivate the culture of savings, and be creative in what they are doing to be able to attract more customers to themselves and by implication, more money in their bank accounts.

Newstracktoday reports that the theme of the Women’s Convention is “Arise and shine and it is taken from the book of Isaiah 60:1.

It also reports that the two days event was packed full with various activities like newscasting, choir ministrations, and other soul lifting activities to the glory of God.
