Security personnel have blocked the roads leading to the Benin City High Court along Sapele road ahead of the judgment that is going to be delivered by the Election Petition Tribunal later today.
Recall that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the September 21 2024 governorship election, Asuen Ighodalo has challenged the election that declared Senator Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) the winner of the governorship election in court.
Recall that the legal fireworks which began some months ago, its outcome is said to be out today.
Prior to today, a purported copy of the judgment has flooded the social media and this has risen a lot of tension in the state which has been waiting anxiously for the judgment to be delivered.
However, the judgment is not going to be delivered in Benin City but citizens are wondering why should the roads leading to the Benin High Court have to be blocked and with the presence of security personnel everywhere.
Well, some political analysts are suggesting that it could be that the legal fireworks started there and there could be transferred aggression on the facility should there be a contrary judgement.
