The mother of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, Madam Esther, is dead.
She died at the age of 95.
This was contained in a statement issued and signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Friday Aghedo, and made available to Journalists in Benin.
The statement said she passed on, on Wednesday.
The Idahosa family described the deceased as a respected matriarch who lived a long, fulfilling, and impactful life characterized by strong faith, integrity, and dedication to her family and community.
While expressing gratitude to God for the life well spent, the family has also asked for prayers and understanding as they mourn their loss.
In a formal announcement, the family stated that her passing occurred peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at the age of 95.
They further described the nonagenarian as a woman of great character whose wisdom and legacy served as a source of inspiration to all who had come in contact with her while she was alive.
