The Edo State Private Property Protection Committee (PPPC), has struck out the case of land grabbing leveled against Radio Nigeria, Bronze FM, Correspondent Mr Fortune Oyem after series of investigations.
Delivering the Judgement, Chairman of the Committee, Justice Alero Edodo- Eruaga said the matter was struck out for lacking merit and advised any of the parties to go to court if not satisfied with the Judgement of the Committee.
The FRCN Correspondent, Fortune Oyem was two years ago, dragged before the Edo State Private Property Protection Committee by one Mrs Uanikhoba Akhigbe over allegations of land grabbing.
Presenting a document carrying two by one plot of land as her exhibit, the petitioner told the committee that her son in 2015, bought a hundred by hundred feet of land from Iduwunehigie community along Egba road of the Benin Auchi expressway by the then Community Development Association (CDA) Chairman, Mr Monday Ebuehi.
She alleged that, surprisingly, part of the said land was later sold to the respondent, Mr fortune Oyem by the late Odionwere of Idonga, Pa Ehi Imade and efforts to reclaim the land had been unsuccessful.
But the then CDA Chairman of Iduwunehigie Community, Mr Monday Ebuehi had on several occasions informed the committee that the document the petitioner was parading was forged as he never sold any land to the petitioner.
The committee after listening to several witnesses, explained to the petitioner that the said land, the fifty by hundred feet has a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O)to the name of the respondent .
Justice Alero Edodo- Eruaga who told the petitioner that she was yet to prove the case of land grabbing, finally struck out the petition for lacking in merit and advised both parties to go to court if not pleased with the Judgement.
