The Chief Executive Officer of the Gideon and Funmi Para-Mallam Peace Foundation, Gideon Para Mallam, has revealed that Leah Sharibu has been married to three different husbands, Boko Haram leaders inclusive and has had a child each for the trio.

Recall that Leah Sharibu, was one of the 110 schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram on February 19, 2018, from the Government Girls Science and Technical College in Dapchi, Yobe State.

Newstracktoday reports that Para Mallam said this during an interview with Channels Television.

Para Mallam said that after her abduction, Leah was sold to an older man who compelled her to marry him, and she later bore a child with him. After one or two years, Leah sought a divorce, which was granted.

Subsequently, she married another man, a powerful Boko Haram commander, with whom she had a second child; this man was killed on December 31, 2022, amid clashes between Boko Haram factions.

Following this, Leah was taken by yet another man, with whom she had a third child.

Para Mallam disclosed that Leah has been married to three different men while in captivity.

He however appealed to President Bola Tinubu to take action to secure Leah’s release, saying, “Another guy who was a strong Boko Haram fighter, a commander, married Leah.

“Her second child came from that man, but he was killed on December 31, 2022, during conflicts between Shekau’s faction and ISWAP.

“After that, another man took Leah, and she had another child. So she has probably had three husbands based on what I have described.”
