NDLEA Honours Daily Trust, Punch, Other Reporters In Edo

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Edo State command has bestowed Awards of Excellence on the Daily Trust reporter, Mr. Bello Abdullahi, Adeyinka Adedipe, Punch, Usman Aliu, News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and Nefiseesa Bello of the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) for advancing the fight against narcotics in the state

Newstracktoday reports that those honoured are all Edo State correspondence and they are tagged the “Best Media Partners for 2025”.

The state Commander, Mitchell Ofoyeju, while presenting them with the plaques during his first quarter operational scorecard in Benin, said the award is to strengthen partnerships critical to the agency’s success in winning the war against hard drugs in the state.

“Today, we celebrate dedication, resourcefulness and fruitful collaboration.

“The award recipients embody our collective resolve to secure a drug-free society”, Ofoyeju said.

Ofoyeju said that the media partners have demonstrated consistency, fairness and insightful coverage of the NDLEA’s activities which is instrumental in raising public awareness and fostering community support

Responding shortly after the award, Mr. Bello Abdullahi of the Daily Trust Newspapers, Edo State correspondent, said the honour came to him as a surprise, noting that it will encourage him to do more.

“I feel honoured with the award, because I was just doing my job as a journalist, not knowing that the agency noticed everything I was doing.

“One always have the zeal to do more when he or she is recognized. The award will spur me to put more efforts”, Abdullahi said.
