The assistant pastor of God’s Greater Grace General Assembly Intl Incorporated, Benin, Pastor Osazee Aibangbee has said the instructions of God to believers still surface despite whatever they might be going through at that point in time but obedient to them often yield positive results.
He disclosed this while speaking on the topic “The best has come” at the Sunday church service in Benin City.
Pastor Aibangbee said that God knew that the poor widow of Zarephite was faced with acute shortages of foods yet directed prophet Elijah to her to feed from the very little she had.
Aibangbee said Elijah asked her for a piece of bread, and she invited him to her home where she used her last bit of flour and oil to bake for him.
He said the prophet then blessed the woman and her child, and assured them that their supplies of flour and oil will never be diminished and it remain so (1 Kings 17:8-16).
Also, he said that Jesus knew that Peter and his brother had toiled all night long on the sea for fish and there was no single catch but when He stepped in, He instructed that they should cast their net into the depth of the sea. They obeyed and there was a great catch.
Speaking on the topic proper, which was taken from John 2:9-10, the clergyman said Jesus turned a situation which should have been a huge embarrassment to a groom at a wedding ceremony in Cana of Galilee into a huge testimony, making them to say that the best was kept for the last.
“And the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine.
“He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew.
“Then he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now”, John 2:9-10.
The assistant pastor added that God’s plans for His children has always been the best and that if they have not gotten the best since the beginning of the year, God Almighty Himself is still able to show up to take away what seems like an embarrassment from them as He is never too late to come through for them.
He however urged the christian faithful to follow the various principles, which are: involving God in their day-to-day life because if He is not their Alpha, He can’t be their Omega, obeying His instructions and giving Him their best so that He would also reciprocate same.
