The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State council, has inaugurated the newly elected executives of the Independent Television and Radio chapel, Benin.
Inaugurating the newly elected executives, the Chairman, NUJ, Edo State council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe, congratulated them for being elected adding that, it is a call for service.
He also commended the Managing Director of ITV, Engr. Elvis Obaseki for always showing commitment towards the growth of the union.
On the part of the newly inaugurated chairman of ITV, Pius Nsogho, he thanked the management of ITV for giving him and his team the opportunity to serve.
He promised to do his best to ensure that the chapel will not suffer setback.
According to him” I thank the management of ITV for giving me this platform. I promise that myself along with other executives will do our best to justify this confidence reposed in us”
Also speaking, the Managing Director of the station, Engr. Elvis Obaseki congratulated the newly elected executives of the chapel.
He urged them to work together for the betterment of the chapel and for the growth of the union.
The newly elected executives are: Pius Nsogho, chairman, Roseline Ebhoramen, Vice chairman, Favour Osaro, secretary, Kingsley Uchegbu, treasurer.
Others are: Osamudiamen Osagie, financial secretary and Felix Usiobaifo, auditor.
Similarly, the chairman, who earlier visited the VOS studio, an online television platform, urged the staff and management of the station to adhere to the ethics of the profession.
He urged them to use the media to deepen democracy and should not toe the line of some of the African countries who have veered off from democracy adding that, it is still the best system of government in the world.
He assured the media outfit of the union’s support.
