The Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council, has rated the 4 Brigade of the Nigerian Army high on its sustained efforts in improving and strengthening security across the state.
Chairman of the council, Dr. Festus Alenkhe gave the commendation during a courtesy call on the Brigade Headquarters in Benin City.
He said the Union has closely monitored the Brigade’s achievements since the current Commander assumed office.
Alenkhe added that, the relative peace being enjoyed in Edo is largely due to the troops’ constant preparedness and swift response to threats.

The NUJ Chairman also harped on the need for a stronger collaboration between the military and the media to ensure effective communication and responsible reporting.
In his response, the Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun, thanked the NUJ for the visit, describing it as timely and important.
He acknowledged the media’s vital role in shaping public understanding of military operations and assured the Union of continued partnership to promote peace, professionalism, and accurate information dissemination in Edo State.
