Omo N’ Oba N’ Edo, Uku Akpolokpolo, Ewuare II, CFR, Oba of Benin, has tasked Muslim faithful on continuous prayers for the peace of the nation and for it to overcome its numerous challenges.
He gave the task when Muslim communities in Benin, led by the Benin Central Mosque Deputy Chief Imam, Alhaji Osahon Otokiti led other Muslim leaders across Hausa, Arewa, Yoruba communities and other ethnic groups in Edo State to pay an Eid-el-kabir homage to him in his palace.
The monarch in his usual magnanimity, prayed for the group and extended his goodwill to Muslims during the Sallah’s celebration in reflection of the deep personal faith in God.
Addressing the Benin throne earlier, Alhaji Osahon Otokiti declared that Edo people are in solidarity with Oba Ewuare II for exemplifying the traits of dignity and steadfastness in pulling through thick and thin since he attained the throne of his forebears.
Alhaji Otokiti who was full of enthusiasm, also thanked the Royal father for his support towards Muslims and for unifying the various ethnic and religious groups living in the State, thereby raising the utilitarian value to Edo heritage worldwide.
The Muslim faithful interceded for leaders in positions of authority, including the Oba of Benin, Benin Royal Court, Benin Royal family, Edo State and Nigeria.
