The Chief of Staff to the Edo State governor, Mr. Osaigbovo Iyoha, has commended the Chief Executive Officer of Surprise Pub and Cafe, Chief Matthew Evbakor Oshodin for bridging the gap of unemployment and arresting youth restiveness in the state.
He also urged the youths to look inwards and reawaken their creative ingenuity to help government address the rising unemployment rates in the country
He made the call while presenting a document of ownership of a plot of land to the winner of the Clash of the Titans Season 4 stage competition organized by Chief Oshodin in Benin.
Mr. Osaigbovo said the people of the state are endowed with enormous talents that have not been harnessed, which should be tapped for the overall benefits of the state and by extension, the country.
Osaigbovo said some of the Edo State born artistes are making the state proud at the moment globally and locally and that, more, through such an event put together by the Surprise Pub and Cafe can be discovered.
He said Nigerians must come to terms with the fact that, the so-called white collar jobs are not readily available while the crude oil the country is rallying on will soon be a thing of the past because the rest of the world are now talking of renewable energy.
He said one of the ways out for the youths, is that, they should look inwards and develop their God’s given talents adding that, such alone can make them self-sufficient.
He commended Chief Oshodin for always bridging the gap of unemployment and creating wealth in the state.
Earlier, the Chief Executive Officer, Surprise Pub and Cafe, Chief Matthew Evbakor Oshodin, said, with the parcel of land given to the winner of the competition, it will inspire other artistes in the state to be more dedicated and professional in their career either as a musician or as an actor.
Chief Oshodin reiterated that there are a lot of talents inherent in the youths of the state that have not been discovered, stressing that, with the Nosa Obaseki and Friends, a Canadian based Nollywood actor concert, coming up on 26th of July, it would be an avenue to discover more talented artistes in the state and which will in return, creates the opportunity for the younger ones to be groomed to stardom.
Speaking also, one of the show sponsors, Mrs. Rukevwe Ekhaese, the Chief Executive Officer, Kawruky hotel, commended Chief Oshodin for always having the artistes at heart and promoting the hospitality business in the state, which is one of the largest employers of labour.
