Obaseki Urges Corps Members To Leverage On Economic Diversification Through Edo Job Agency

Edo state governor, Godwin Obaseki has appealed to corps members posted to the state to leverage on the economic diversification programme by buying into the various skill programmes offered by the state through the Edo Job Agency.

He made the appeal during the swearing in ceremony of the 2024 Batch B, stream II corps members at the permanent orientation camp in Okada, Ovia North East Local Government Area of the state.

The governor who was represented by the Director Youth, Ministry of Youth and Humanitarian Affairs, Aiyegbeni Balogun also urged them to avail themselves the opportunity provided by the scheme through its Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development Programme (SAED) to enable them to be self reliant.

The governor also warned the corps members against getting involved in cyber crimes, cultism, taking hard drugs and other social vices.

Earlier in her welcome address, State Coordinator of the scheme, Mrs. Ben-Ushie Ifeoma said a total of 1525 corps members comprising 705 and 820 female have been duly registered for the orientation course.

She lauded the governor for the construction of two additional borehole in the camp, the almost completed state coordinator accommodation at the camp, just as she appealed to the governor to help solve some problems the scheme is presently faced with in the state.
