The Director General of the Campaign Council for the governorship candidate of the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Matthew Iduoriyekemwen has called on the supporters of the governorship candidate of the party, Asue Ighodalo, to remain resolute and work for his victory at the poll.

The council also alleged that a certain opposition party is trying to distract the public with the Abuja Federal High Court judgement, noting that “the judgement will not stand.”

Hon. Iduoriyekemwen made the appeal when he led members and dozens of supporters in a solidarity march in Benin City.

Continuing, the campaign council DG noted that president Bola Tinubu has always been at the forefront of deepening democracy in Nigeria, adding that “no party in the State should count on external influence to win the election.”

On his part, the party’s candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo urged the people to support the PDP to win the election and urged them to get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to vote “for more upward movement.”

He added: “we will vote for PDP to ensure that the votes are counted, and we will follow it to the collation centre until we are announced the winner so that the state will continue to prosper.”

Newstracktoday reports that the party’s flag bearer, Dr. Asue Ighodalo, his deputy, Barr. Osarodion Ogie, the Speaker of the State Assembly, Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and the Deputy Director, Rev. Olu Martins joined in the march across the metropolis.
